🌿 Our vision

We fell in love with Nice, its light, its smells, its rhythm of life unlike any other city. This love brings with it a responsibility: to take care of what we love.

The Nice Garden Hotel is a small, nine-room establishment housed in an early 20th-century bourgeois residence in the heart of this vibrant Mediterranean city. Not a large chain with a CSR department, but a small, dedicated team convinced that respecting the local area, its heritage, its nature, and its inhabitants is simply common sense.

Aware of the impact of our activity, we want to limit our footprint and, as far as possible, contribute to the regeneration of this territory. It's a long, imperfect path that requires a real human and financial commitment. But it's our guiding principle.

"Respecting the environment is, for us, the condition of honest hospitality. We cannot invite travelers to discover the beauty of the Riviera if we do not do our part to preserve it."

Here are our commitments, supported by the entire team, and designed for our clients and partners, in a logic of continuous improvement.

🌱 Our daily commitments

⚡ Energy: Keep it simple, but better

A pleasant lifestyle is not incompatible with sobriety.

Energy consumption is our main source of environmental impact, accounting for approximately 60 to 70% of our carbon emissions (scope 1 and 2). This includes heating/cooling, lighting, equipment, and hot water.

● All our lighting equipment uses energy-efficient LEDs

● Lights and equipment are switched off in unoccupied spaces.

● Our team is aware of eco-friendly practices and raises awareness among travellers.

● We encourage our guests to use air conditioning judiciously, to avoid waste without compromising their comfort. The Green Key recommended temperature is 22°C.

🗑️ Waste: reduce before sorting

Reduce, reuse and sort before throwing away. A common sense principle that we apply every day.

● Systematic recycling for the entire team (glass, paper/plastic)

- We work with a social enterprise (La DRISSE) to weigh and collect our household waste, glass, recyclables and paper

-The installation of a compost bin in our garden to make use of green and food waste is being considered.

● Active reduction of single-use packaging for the breakfast buffet

● Reusable and refillable containers wherever possible

● Reducing food waste at breakfast by managing it according to customer requests

💧 Water: a precious resource

The pressures on water resources in Nice and its region are numerous and intensifying due to climate, urban, and tourism challenges. Every drop truly counts.

● We raise awareness among our customers about responsible consumption, without making them feel guilty, but by providing them with honest information.

● Bed linen and towels changed on request, not systematically

● Installation of water-saving devices under consideration

● Our facilities are regularly monitored to detect any leaks

● Garden watering is adapted to the seasons and the weather, never automatic, always reasoned

🚲 Transport: promoting soft mobility, Nice is best experienced on foot!

According to environmental impact measurement standards, our hotel business is responsible for the travel of our guests. As a small team, we are not yet able to account for this travel, let alone influence it.

Through our advice, we encourage our guests to embrace sustainable transportation, both for climate protection and for the pleasure of "slow" travel at a Mediterranean pace. All the necessary information (tram, bicycle, walking) is available in the welcome booklet and in the hotel lobby.

More environmentally friendly products

What we use always ends up somewhere. In our lungs, in the pipes, in the earth, in the sea. We think about it.

● Laundry detergents, cleaning products, hygiene products: we exclusively buy eco-labelled cleaning products

● Our guest amenities are carefully selected, refillable, and use only the bare minimum of plastic.

Local partners for the development of the local economic fabric

● Local suppliers: dry cleaning, waste management, gardener, laundry

🌿 Cultivating a Mediterranean garden

This garden is our most precious asset. A haven of coolness and well-being in the heart of the city. We tend it carefully to do our part in regenerating biodiversity.

● Sustainable maintenance, respectful of natural cycles and local biodiversity

● Orange trees, Mediterranean plants, local species: we cultivate what belongs to this territory

● No pesticides or harmful chemicals, ever, without exception

● Our garden is a living space, not a decoration. We let it exist.

🤝 Local roots, our way of contributing

Virtuous tourism is also tourism that supports the local economy and guides travellers towards businesses that are mindful of the impact of their activities.

● Our suppliers and service providers are primarily local, and we favor companies with an eco-responsible commitment.

● We highlight local shops, artisans, and restaurants—real addresses, rather than commercial partnerships

● We guide our clients towards a conscious discovery of the territory, far from the standardized circuits
